SUPERFARM TM is the proposal for the mass conversion of metro supermarkets across London into urban farms. It aims to create more sustainable land use by reducing the carbon footprint of metro supermarkets in minimising transportation and creating efficiencies in the end to end production of food.
The concept of the façade plays up on the idea of a guerrilla takeover.
The SUPERFARM TM logo superimposes existing branding
The façade openings are scaled up and removed, building materials are repurposed in other areas. Detailing will celebrate delineations between the old and new.
The interior space combines high-end retail with greenhouse design. Supermarket shelving is upgraded to urban farming fixtures of the future.
