Stratford Community Pavillion

By Jun Wang

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford was earmarked for regeneration in 2018, during preparations for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Just over a decade later, the development of Stratford is continuing to create one of London’s largest commercial and residential centres.

The proposed idea attempts to create a sequence of spaces that will contribute to the local community and tourists by connecting the important routes from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to Westfield Stratford City, and the Stratford station to Stratford shopping centre and the Stratford park.

The space created for local community incorporates indoor space outdoors, to encourage more interaction amongst mixed generations. It is designed to provide a place for both the local community as well as bring tourists to the area.

The concept is to create a space pavilion of various levels to accommodate different function zones. These could include an information zone with large screens, a children's play zone, a seating and café zone, all linked by a walkable connection.
